Assessment and follow-up

The progress made by the academicians is monitored and evaluated according to the sports and academic goals defined at the start of each term.
A complete and detailed report is communicated to the player every quarter. This assessment is an essential support, the basis for discussion with the academician's family during parent—teacher-coach meetings, which take place every quarter.

Challenges and challenges

Every month, tests are organized in the form of challenges, on and off the field, allowing each student to develop their competitive spirit.

Integration

Organized over 3 days at the beginning of the year, integration is a mandatory crossing point for all students. On the program, long-distance team challenges to measure physical and mental resources, bivouac, Spartan living conditions facilitating social ties between students.

UTR matches

Regularly, players compete in UTR matches, which allows them to have a double ranking, thus offering all their chances to be recruited in the United States.

The Winter Games

An intense week where competition, self-improvement and team spirit are put to the test. The concept is a series of tennis and physical events that aim to capitalize on group energy in an attempt to win!

• High training load (volume & intensity)
• Integrated physical preparation
• Coordination and motor skills (eye/foot/hand)
• Development of physical and mental qualities
• Development of mental qualities

A training in 3 phases

  • 1st phase: September — December

    • Importance of work - Endurance - Muscle building - Proprioception

  • 2nd phase: January — April

    • Integrated physical preparation work
    • Strengthening speed, coordination and power work

  • 3rd phase: May — August

    • Physical work adapted to the rhythm of successive competitions
    • Reinforced recovery and flexibility work

Led by Thomas Scherle, physical training is an essential component of training at the academy and allows for faster progress. All students in the academy train 1.5 hours a day and adopt essential routines. The nature of the training sessions and their intensity depend on the period and the player's profile. Generally, the calendar is divided into 3 distinct phases (opposite).

THE COMPETITION

a tournament calendar provided

The Hérault region benefits from a comprehensive tournament calendar. More than 45 Open tournaments over the year, as well as a multitude of international youth tournaments (ITF and -14) located in the southern zone or in the North of Spain (2.5 hours by car).

A complete framework for competitions

The competition allows each student to measure their progress and to work mentally game after game. Supervising matches is essential to ensure that each player applies the work done in training. The academy is committed to providing support for each competition, including a warm-up, match analysis and performance debriefing.

18 to 20 official tournaments between September and June

On average, students participate in more than 18 official tournaments between September and June, more than in any other academy, to which can be added up to ten additional tournaments during the summer.

MENTAL PREPARATION

It is addressed in 3 steps:

- Our coaches take the time to know and analyze the behavior of each player on and off the field during the first 2 months in order to assess the need for support.

- Group sessions are organized every 15 days to initiate reflection and awareness of the work to be done in order to achieve your goals.

- If the need is expressed by the player or advised by the coach, personal support can be offered.

Tailor made national and international U14 & U18 competitions

An international, complete and varied program: ITF, Tennis Europe, for players who have reached the necessary level.

  • Since this year

A 600 m² medical-sports office located on the French campus is available for academy students.

A thorough medical and sports analysis

Upon arrival, all players must pass a comprehensive test that allows the sports team to carry out an in-depth medical and sports analysis, used throughout the year for better medical follow-up.
